  薑黃素被發現能抑制許多癌症細胞的生長,但是在誘導肝癌細胞產生凋亡性內質網壓力的相關研究卻不足。肝癌J5細胞株分別與薑黃素共同培養24與48小時後,利用MTT檢測細胞存活率的變化,並以顯微鏡觀察細胞受薑黃素影響後細胞型態的改變。透過西方墨點法檢測內質網壓力與未折疊蛋白效應相關蛋白的表達,包括caspase-12、ATF-6、CHOP、calnexin、calreticulin、PDI和Ero1-Lα蛋白。並將以DNA螢光染劑染色,再以流式細胞儀觀測每顆細胞DNA含量藉此評估細胞週期的變化,接著以蛋白質表達量的變化來佐證流式細胞儀的結果。最後透過粒線體膜蛋白TCTP, Mcl-1, Bcl-2, Bcl-xL與Bax的表達變化,以及利用免疫螢光染色法顯示ATF-6、caspase-12與CHOP的表達位置。實驗結果顯示薑黃素影響折疊蛋白calreticulin、calnexin、PDI以及....
