國中青少年參與志願服務經驗探討-以台北市南門國中小太陽服務社為例

青少年是國家未來重要人力資源指標,青少年不該只是福利的消耗者、享用者,他們也可以轉化為服務的提供者,國內外許多研究顯示:志願服務工作能有助於青少年其人格發展並降低反社會行為發生,本研究希望能提供青少年一個展現的舞台,協助他們展現自己,從中獲得成就感、自尊與認同。
本研究以質性研究探討台北市南門國中小太陽服務社學生,參與服務工作的看法,共訪問八名學生,訪談分為五個方向:參與動機、服務經驗、服務後反思、參與中是否面臨挫折及應對方式、對於日後推動服務工作的建議等。
依據青少年訪談內容,歸納結果如下:一、青少年次文化語言顯現於訪談中;二、青少年參與服務性社團動機是多重的,但以同儕邀約為主;三、青少年基於對於過去與兒童相處的成功經驗,而參與社團工作;四、青少年參與服務工作十分多元,彩虹天地服務中,學生們自行構思籌備活動,而校內服務以義賣蛋塔最令學生們印象深刻;五、青少年認為訓練籌備課程對於實際參與服務工作是有助益的,但部分與服務沒有直接關聯性的課程,青少年們則覺得無聊;六、指導老師在社團中扮演重要引航者的角色,學生多倚賴老師的協助;七、服務後的反思課程,引導學生反省自己服務過程中的缺失;八、在個人成長中,青少年志工參與服務工作後,對於人生態度開始有不同看法,個人成長方面提升同理心的感受力、學習以正向積極的態度面對自己的情緒;九、參與服務工作,拉近青少年與人際相處的互動,而父母卻較少主動關心孩子在服務中的表現;十一、青少年服務過程中,多數面臨困擾與人際有關,而青少年多願意以正向態度面對與解決。
依據上述結果,研究者由青少年、父母、老師、學校、社福單位、後續研究等方面提出相關建議,以作為日後推動青少年志願服務工作的參考。

英文摘要

Adolescent is an important index to evaluate the strength of a country in the future. Adolescents shall not only be consumers to waste the benefit, they can turn into the producers who provide the service. From previous studies, adolescents who volunteered to do anything help others people had a positive attitude in personality development, and they had lesser anti-societal behavior than other teens. In my research, I hope I can give them a stage that they can show themselves, and the most important thing is they can find achievements, self-respect and identification from this stage.
My studies is about using qualitative research method to investigate the students who are    members and have a hand in volunteer service. I had talked to eight students, and the context could divide into five categories: motivation, service experience, the thought after service, any setback in the volunteer services and solve methods, and the suggestion about future work.
From the talk, I had got some results about the adolescents,
1. The sub-culture language had seen in this talk with these adolescents.
2. The motivation about these adolescents participate in service club was multiple, but the most common one was peer solicitation.
3. Based on the previous successful experience with children, the adolescents would participate in service club.
4. Adolescents who participate in volunteer service were pluralistic. From   volunteer service, they had their own idea to make the activities well. In addition, from school service, donated egg cake was the most profound impression on them.
5. Training adolescents in the preparatory courses for participating in the actual work was helpful, however, some services not directly related to the curriculum, they would think that was silly.
6. The teacher made an important role in the pilot, and the adolescents always depended on her assistance.
7. The course about reflection made the students think what were they wrong in volunteer service.
8. In personal growth, the young volunteers who participated in the work began to have different views about their life. In personal development, they had enhanced the receptiveness of empathy, and tried to learn how to use positive attitude in facing their emotions.
9. From participating in the volunteer service, it could help the teens to enhance interpersonal interaction, but the parents had fewer interesting to share children s performance in volunteer service.
10. From volunteer service, many adolescents had frustration with the peers, but they were willing to face the problem in positive attitude and resolved it.
From my research, I have some suggestion for adolescents, parents, teachers, school, social welfare unit and future work, I hope it can make reference for following studies who want to promote adolescent volunteer service.
